My love for physics and math is so great, but my hate for how much time it takes up in my day is even greater. It amazes me that I can spend hours on one physics problem. This weekend, my partner for a group project in Linear Algebra and I spent over eight hours analyzing a traffic flow map and applying linear algebra concepts in order to discover which roads could be closed without drastically interrupting traffic flow.
Here is my partner and I crashing out at Hour 5. Never become an engineer, guys.
One of our options was to get rid of a road, resulting in 650 people on a different road at one time. The other option was to remove a different road, forcing 600 cars on one road, but only allowing 500 cars to exit that road, meaning 100 of them had to explode or disappear in some way.
We got it done though! And made some pretty fire memes about it, too. But, then, I had to get up at 4 am to crank out some physics homework before I went to the gym at 6. Almost cried after these problems:
But electric fields are super cool! I am hyped about the unit we are going through right now, which makes everything better. One exciting aspect of my physics homework recently is the application of Calculus II topics. I got to use a trig-sub and a Taylor Series in this homework set!
